We take the protection of your personal data seriously. This Privacy Policy outlines what data is collected, processed, and used when using our apps.

§3 Data Processing Overview
3.1 Local Storage
- Your decisions, preferences, and usage data are stored locally on your device only.
- No cloud syncing or external storage of personal usage data is performed.
3.2 Keychain Usage
- A randomly generated UUID is stored in Apple’s Keychain.
- This UUID is used to manage your credit balance.
- It is anonymous and reset when the app is reinstalled.
- No personal identity is linked to this UUID.
3.3 AI Requests (OpenAI)
- To provide decision support and generate content, your input is sent to the OpenAI API.
- These requests are anonymous and not permanently stored by us.
- OpenAI’s own data usage policies apply (see §6).
§4 Specific Processing in Compliments AI
4.1 Face Data Collection
To generate personalized compliments based on your facial features, the app uses Apple’s Vision framework and OpenAI’s GPT-4 Vision API. We collect:
- Face bounding boxes and landmarks
- Cropped face images (used temporarily for AI processing)
- Quality assessment metrics (e.g., lighting, sharpness)
4.2 Face Data Processing
- Face data is processed locally using Apple’s Vision framework.
- Cropped face images are sent to OpenAI’s Vision API to generate the compliment.
- Data is used exclusively for this purpose, not for identification or recognition.
4.3 Face Data Retention and Storage Policy
EXPLICIT RETENTION STATEMENT:
- Face data is NOT RETAINED permanently by our app.
- All face data processing occurs temporarily in device memory only.
- Face data is automatically discarded immediately after the compliment is generated (within seconds).
- No face data is stored on device storage, cloud services, or any persistent storage medium.
REASONS FOR TEMPORARY PROCESSING:
- Face data is processed temporarily solely to generate personalized compliments.
- Temporary processing is necessary to analyze facial features and create relevant, personalized content.
- Processing duration: Maximum 30 seconds per session, then immediately deleted.
LENGTH OF STORAGE:
- Face data storage duration: 0 seconds (no permanent storage)
- Temporary processing time: Maximum 30 seconds during active compliment generation
- Reason for this timeframe: Only the minimum time necessary for AI processing and compliment generation
4.4 Third-Party Face Data Sharing
OPENAI SHARING DETAILS:
- Third party: OpenAI Inc. (GPT-4 Vision API)
- Shared data: Cropped face images only (not full photos)
- Purpose: AI-powered compliment generation only
- OpenAI’s storage practices: According to OpenAI’s data usage policy (as of August 2025):
- Images sent via API are not used to train OpenAI models
- Images are not retained by OpenAI after processing
- Images are processed and immediately discarded
- No permanent storage of face data by OpenAI
- Duration of OpenAI processing: Temporary processing only, no permanent retention
- Reason for sharing: Essential for AI-powered compliment generation functionality
NO OTHER THIRD-PARTY SHARING:
- No other third parties receive face data.
- Face data is never shared with analytics services, advertising networks, or other parties.
- Superwall (payment processor) does NOT receive any face data.
§5 Payments and Analytics
5.1 In-App Purchases
- In-app purchases are handled via Superwall, Inc.
- Superwall processes pseudonymous usage data for purchase validation and UX optimization.
5.2 Analytics
- Superwall may track aggregated, non-personal analytics data (e.g., screen opens, subscription events).
- No personal identity is linked to these analytics.
